How Long Does Orthognathic Surgery Recovery Last?

The postoperative period of orthognathic surgery consists of only ten days of home rest, and from the day of the intervention, careful eating is followed for 10 to 30 days.

The postoperative period of the intervention is not painful. However, facial edema varies from person to person. This temporary inflammation tends to increase during the first 48 to 72 hours, followed by a gradual decrease in inflammation, and results may start to be seen in 2–3 weeks.
